Quay of Montreux

The Quays of Montreux stretch more than thirteen kilometers along the shores of Lake Geneva. Walking on the promenade, you can admire exotic flowers and palm trees while also indulging in the captivating views of the towering mountains.

Chillon Castle

Chillon Castle is one of oldest castles in Switzerland, built between 11th and 12th century. Château de Chillon (Chillon Castle)

One of the highlights of Switzerland is Chillon Castle, which is also one of the most visited historical places in Switzerland. This 13th century castle makes its way to postcards and books about the country’s famous and must see sights. Located on Lake Geneva this medieval castle was built on a small rocky island in the lake, offering both – its strategic location and natural protection. This medieval castle houses several Gothic dungeons, which has been a subject of a poem penned by Lord Byron in the year 1816 “The prisoner of Chillon”. The castle is very beautiful from the outside and a visit inside is a must, make sure you don’t skip the last stop which is the highest tower of the castle which gives you a stunning panorama view.

Statue of Freddie Mercury

Freddie Mercury – a British singer & songwriter was a lead vocalist of the rock bank QUEEN. An imposing statue of Freddie Mercury has been standing on the promenade overlooking the lake in Montreux since 1996, which serves as a memory of the singer’s presence in Montreux. Freddie Mercury had a second home here in Montreux as he settled Montreux because of its serenity. His rock band QUEEN bought a recording studio in Montreux and recorded a total or seven albums between 1979 and 1996 including the final album “Made in Heaven. It’s captivating that fans still come and place flowers in front of the monument every single day.

Rochers de Naye

From the shoreline of Montreux to the summit of Rochers-de-Naye in less than an hour by a cogwheel train, you reach an altitude of 2,042 m to a place which offers magnificent views of Lake Geneva and the snow-clad mountains around. Rochers-de-Naye is a perfect place to visit all-year-round as it offer multiple activities in every season. Enjoy over 1000 colourful alpine flowers at the La Rambertia garden which is open from id June to end of September, hit the mountain slopes with your ski or snowboard in winter and between end of November and end of December proceed for a magical journey to the House of Santa Claus on Rochers De Naye.

Lavaux Vineyards

Lavaux Vineyards – a UNESCO World Heritage site are stretched at splendid 830 hectares between Montreux and Lausanne. Wander through the well-trodden trails in the vineyards on foot enjoying the beauty of the surroundings and stunning views. Make occasional stops at the wine cellars to savour the best of the Lavaux wine. Most sold wines at Lavaux are the Chasselas wines, which are dry and fruity.
